Last night at the CRK Recital Hall, Payap University, Kaew Narawat Campus, Deb Childs, one of the staff members of the Duriyasilp College of Music, presented a Voice Recital. Deb originally from  Virginia, Minnesota has lived in Chiang Mai for over 10 years.

She was accompanied by the popular Japanese born Ajarn Atsuko Seta.

The first part of the programme consisted of Frauenliebe und leben by Schumann, Lydia and Mai by Faure, and Beau Soir by Debussy.

After interval, Deb sang a selection of arias from Puccini operas. O mio babbino from Gianni Schicchi, Donde lieta from Tosca, Vissi d’arte from La boheme and Un bel di from Madama Butterfly.

For an encore, Deb sang the regimental song from Donizetti’s The Daughter of the Regiment.

She was rewarded by enthusiastic applause by an appreciative audience.

I have embedded two videos. In the first Angela Gheogghiu sings O mio babbino (Oh My  beloved father) from Gianni Schicchi and in the second  renata Tebaldi sings Un bel di ( (One fine day) from Madama Butterfly.
