I recently had visitors from Australia. They arrived here on the 11th November, in time for Loy Krathong, and departed on the 23rd of November.
My next door neighbour in Brisbane (Sue) came as well two other couples. Brian & Jacinta and Bruce & Cheryl.
During the first week we visited tourist venues in and around Chiang Mai, including the Mae Sa Elephant Camp, Wat Phra That Doi Sutep, Doi Pui Hmong village, Bhubing Palace, Pandas at the zoo, Silk and & Silver outlets, Borsang Umbrella village, and the lantern release at the Bhuddist Meditation Centre at Maejo University. We also had a day trip to Doi Inthanon.
On Loy Krathong night we spent a pleasant evening at Le Crystal restaurant and released komloys and Krathongs.
In the second week we travelled arounn northern Thailand, visiting Doi Ang Kang Nature Resort, Mae Salong, Doi Tung, Mae Sai the Golden Triangle area, and Chiang Rai.
We visited the Royal villa at Mae Fah Luang. Unfortunately it was undergoing renovation and some sections were closed.
The visitors were impressed with the Hall of Opium at the Golden Triangle.
I have embedded a video (7 mins)
On their last evening in Chiang Mai my visitors treated me to dinner at the Xanadu Restaurant on the rooftop of he Furuma Hotel. We ordered from the Thai menu. The food was excellent and a fitting end to a great couple of weeks.
